In Cathug, everyone can do something. You can create wiki-pages that explain how to draw dragons or explain the physics behind why they can fly. Everyone can report members that don't follow the uploading art rules or just aren't behaving.

But some people want to have an official title. The problem is of course that we can't have 17000 mayors here, and even a too large amount of guards and crew people would mean that it would be too big to actually do something.

But here is your chance to get the power, badges and all other fancy stuff that really shouldn't be the reason for why you apply to the crew!

What you need to do

1) You need a good general knowledge of Cathug. If you can't handle everything about forums, polls, wiki-pages and know the CatHug rules, then it's no use to apply yet.

2) You need to be able to read and write English well.

3) Your goals with Cathug should agree with Cathug's. If you want to go berserk on everyone who looks ugly, then don't apply!

4) You should have proven yourself. As written above, you don't need any permission to do most stuff here on Cathug. Even if you only have created the big boobs cat competition, are running the forum "Medieval fencing" that no one uses and have written a pretty bad report, it's better than someone who just says they can do all this, but never did.

5) You should explain what you will do as a member of the crew and for how long. Note: We don't want newbies that get all excited by CatHug for a month and then will get tired of it. Therefore, people who have been for a long time, are generally better. Not to mention, older members tend to have a bit more experience.

6) You should be able to get along with the sullen ######## in the crew, and have a great patience with people...

7) You should think this is fun!

8) If you can come up with an eighth point, it shows that you have ideas, but we have ideas and a lot of them. The problem is finding people who will do the ideas well.

Deadline

No, there is no deadline. This goes on forever and good applications get picked at any time when there is a need for new crew members. If you don't get picked, that can be because we're not so sure about you. Or it could mean that we don't necessarily need you at this time. However you might still be picked at a later time.
But: We will not answer questions about what's wrong with you or anything like that! If we have something to say, then you'll hear from us.

How to Apply

Please do not message the crew members to apply for an opening, but include the interest in your application. Further information is usually available upon request.

Your application needs to be on a wiki. If you don't know how to do this, you aren't ready to apply yet. Check the successful applicants' pages to see if you have what we are looking for, and for an idea of what to discuss in your own presentation.

This simply means that they HAVE been crew members, not that they are currently. Please see council

Elfpack and Elftown are the places you're most likely to get spare "jobs" on. All of the other sites tend to have more staff than members; therefore, other than recruiting more active members, there's really nothing you can do.

I'd suggest asking people on Elfpack or Elftown. Oh, and you can get jobs and be helpful without privs or titles; I have a few people who help me out on Elfpack and they have privss nor titles. :)

2011-08-03 [djxmonster]: You may want to check out the ERA @ wiki page on ET. Other than that, just help where someone asks and remember becoming a staff member is a slow process as we don't want just anyone.
