The Great Lord Loki

Once they had found each other, they fled to another alley, leaving the forest. Keeping in the shadows, they pulled the lid off of a drain. Georgina punched a brick wall, denting the brick work “Just who do they think they are?!” she hissed “We are all that is left…Aureus” she turned to him “We must flee.” Aureus shook his head, Rachel stepped forwards “We should not. They won’t find us here, or won’t even follow us, they know this is our territory, it is their disadvantage.” She started checking everyone for wounds. Georgina stared at her “And how would you know this?”
Alicia smirked “Can you not feel that rushing pulse? Can you not smell the fright? Taste the fear? Nor even sense the adrenaline? We have this advantage!” she leaned on the wall. Lord Crovat appeared at her side “They are all dead. All of our kind from this area. You, my fellow vampires, have shown more courage tonight, than ever seen in a vampire. Tonight, however, I must ask you to flee with me. We shall head for ‘The Red General’ club in Dorset.” He looked at Alicia who smiled at him.
Georgina knelt “We also need to find others, five is not enough. We need some back-up.” She re-tied the laces on her converses, and adjusted her black skirt. “Are we ready my lord?” she asked. He nodded “Lead the way miss Hulohot.” Georgina lowered herself into the drain, Aureus and Rachel followed her. Alicia glanced “Oh no. No, no, no, no, there is no way that I am going in there.” Crovat sighed “Now now miss Alucard. Now is not the time for vanity and pride.” He smiled and slid his arms around her waist maneuvering her to the drain.
“No sewage anyway.” Georgina called up. Crovat nodded, “Come, we must go.” He lowered her into the drain and slid in after her, pulling the lid back onto the drain after him. They walked slowly in the darkness of the sewer pipe, their shoes making small clinking sounds on the metal of the pipe. Alicia looked around, disgusted. “This is so…filthy…” Alicia walked alongside Crovat who smiled at her silently.
Georgina scowled watching Rachel and Aureus walking hand in hand in front of her, she kept quiet nevertheless. Alicia stared at Georgina, sensing jealousy, she stumbled and Crovat leaned forwards quickly, catching her, one arm along her waist, the other along the front of her shoulders “Be careful Miss Alucard.” he purred. Alicia blushed crimson and slid his arms from around her “Merci for catching me monsieur.” She said quietly.
Georgina looked ahead “Sunlight.” She murmured. Aureus stopped dead, holding Rachel close to him. Georgina stepped forwards. She saw darkness on the walls, and sidled slowly along it, missing the light, by mere centimeters, within moments, she had moved past the light, to the other side. “Alright,” she said “It’s okay for you to cross, just stay out of the light.”
As the others slowly made their way past the light, Georgina walked on. Suddenly, she stopped; sure she could hear faint breathing noises. “Who’s there” she called wearily, “Show yourself or die!” she hissed. Suddenly from the shadows, a figure dived at her, pinning her to the pipe wall, a glove on his left hand bore five seven-inch long claws, now against Georgina’s cheek, his face was covered by a black bandana, and his soft green eyes were watching her. “I suppose,” he purred, his American accent audible through his bandana “that you will die instead of me now, filthy human.” Georgina rolled her eyes, clasping a hand around his wrist. Alicia approached him drawing her rapier “You will die if you do not unhand her! She is no human.” She said sternly.
The figure let go of Georgina who fell to her knees coughing and spluttering. She stared up at him “who are you?” she asked. He hesitated, looking at her. “My name is Loki.” He replied, and bowed “At your service.” He caught sight of Crovat, “Alright scar-face? Long time no see.” He grinned. Crovat nodded “Loki.” Aureus helped Rachel across the shadows, before helping Georgina to her feet. Rachel coughed, and then noticing the stranger, approached him. Upon seeing that tiny amount of his face, she sank into a bow. Alicia stared “Miss Dante, what on earth are you doing?”
Aureus turned, as Rachel whispered “It’s him…the great Lord Loki.” Aureus shook his head. Loki looked at her. “No,” he said “that was my father.” He eyed her “how did you –“. She cut across him “I’m from Washington State, where your father turned me, three centuries ago.” She stepped back from him, back to Aureus. Loki nodded “that’s where I learned to feed…my old man taught me.” He looked at Georgina “You’re going to Dorset aren’t you?” Georgina nodded “Si. The Red General.”
Loki grinned and nodded “The harlot’s home.” He turned to Crovat “It should be full by sunset, are you after recruits or something?” he started walking, not even bothering to wait for an answer. Georgina caught up with Loki. Alicia caught Crovat’s arm “should we trust him monsieur?”
Alicia asked “I’ve heard that he helps humans, by killing us vampires.” Crovat smiled warmly from under his mask, and put his arm around her “Don’t you worry mademoiselle” he purred “I have complete trust in him.” He grinned, and guided her gently towards the others. Loki stopped, and gazed up at a drain, he slid the lid off of it, and clambered up, poking his head from the drain, after they had been walking for an hour or so, the others glanced at him “Not far now” he called back to them, then lowered himself into the pipe once more. “About four hours away, maybe we should stay here for a bit, recuperate.” He suggested. Aureus stood in an alcove, and crossed his arms across his chest. Rachel stood toes touching his, and crossed her arms over her chest as well. Silvia’s scythe stood beside her, she was going to use it, ‘revenge for taking such a young vampire from them.’ She thought. Alicia walked further along the pipe to another alcove; she stepped into it, and crossed her arms along her chest. Crovat peered around, then, toes touching hers, he stood “you don’t mind mademoiselle?” he asked. Alicia shook her head. Loki stood beneath the drain, and Georgina stood nearby, watching him carefully. Without even looking at her he smiled “Senorita is there a particular reason that you are staring at me?” he grinned, beneath his bandana, then reached up, slowly sliding it from his face. Georgina stared, ‘he’s extremely good looking’ she thought at once “Err…Si...Actually there is senore. You are a complete mystery…why is it now, after everyone has gone, do you show me your face?” she waited for his answer. Loki looked at her with his soft green eyes, he stepped up, until his face was inches from hers “Intelligent one aren’t you?” he smirked. Georgina turned from him; he caught her hands and pulled her against him. “You want to know the reason? The REAL reason?” he asked her quietly. Georgina nodded. “The reason I show my face now, to you is…because…my bandana was smothering me.” Georgina rolled her eyes and made to move away from him, but he caught her hand, and dragged her back to face him “What do you think you are doing?” she hissed at him. Loki raised an eyebrow “Giving you what you want George.” Georgina shook her head, “I do not wish to be man –. “ He kissed her, cutting her off, and pulling her closer to him.
Georgina blushed scarlet, and broke away “Manhandled” she finished her sentence, and then stood, walking to an empty alcove. Loki smirked, and re-tied his bandana on “She’s so into me” he grinned, leaning back against the pipe wall. A voice sounded behind him “And you son, are so vain.” Loki turned. It was Crovat. “You are just like your father” he said, a slight smile crossing his face, invisible because of his mask. Loki laughed. “Oh, and what about you? Mr.-I’ve-got-a-zit-on-my-chin-so-I’ll-wear-a-mask-to-hide-it-?” he chuckled. Crovat just sighed “You know full well why I wear a mask Loki.”
Loki nodded “Ah, but does your missus know? Has she seen you without your mask on yet?” he smirked, knowing the answer. Crovat shook his head. No, nor will she. And she is not my missus, we aren’t courting.” Alicia opened her eyes at the mention of her name, and stepped forwards, watching them silently. She remembered what her father had taught her “Stealth, is the most important thing to learn, my child, if you master stealth, you shall reign all prey.”
Loki scoffed “Yeah, but I bet you wished you were. I mean, she is quite pretty, not like Georgina though, she was absolutely sexified!” He closed his eyes and smirked. Crovat shook her head “I admit she is beautiful, but it is not mademoiselle’s beauty that draws me to her, it is her intelligence, and her wit. And I do not wish we were. After what happened to Celia and Raquel, I promised myself, I would not get involved again…” Loki stared “Wow…that could really cock things up. What did you go and promise something that stupid for! You might never get laid again Crovvy!!” He asked. Crovat closed his eyes upon being called ‘Crovvy’ and stared at Loki “I couldn’t watch someone I loved die, not again, I lost my wife and daughter, and I could not bare to lose someone else.” He gazed past Loki, right at Alicia, who had a hand over her mouth.
Georgina stood in her alcove, listening intently. Aureus looked at Rachel “Did you know of this?” he mouthed. Rachel nodded “Celia was my best friend; she kept talking about how she couldn’t wait for Raquel’s wedding…” Rachel murmured. Aureus hugged her tightly. Alicia stared at Crovat. Loki noticed he was staring at something and turned “YOU!” he shouted “you should not be here!” he stood and stepped towards her. Alicia turned and ran, ran as fast as she could along the pipe, her leather coat billowing out behind her.
Crovat grabbed Loki by his collar “You fool!” he hissed, holding him a foot above the ground, Crovat, being seven foot one, could easily have crushed Loki, but he let him go “There are hunters nearby! If she dies, so do you Loki.” Georgina stared at Crovat, and knelt next to him “Leave him alone! He was trying to protect your damned secret!” Rachel appeared at Georgina’s side “Aureus has gone after his sister.” Georgina looked at him “Are you okay?” she asked, taking his hands in hers, Loki glanced at her then nodded, “Si”. He replied. Further along the pipe, a recurring thudding could be heard, as Alicia sped along the pipelines, ignoring the loud clinking sounds her stiletto heels were making against the metal of the pipe. Left, right, left again, straight ahead. She neither knew, nor cared where she was going. “Stop! Alicia!” Aureus called after her, but she ignored him, and kept running. Aureus sped up and tackled her to the floor. “Alicia,” he started “Do you not care, that there are hunters around?” he turned her to face him “look at me. What Crovat said, is true, but what Loki said to you, is bollocks. You belong here, with all of us.” He said reassuringly to her. He stood, and lifted her over his shoulder. “Put me down!” she wailed, kicking his chest, and pounding his lower back, and turned, making his way back to the others.
Crovat turned when he saw Aureus and heard Alicia’s curses, and nodded to Aureus in thanks. Rachel sprinted to Aureus as Crovat asked “Is mademoiselle alright?” all he had for a reply was a grunt, as Rachel had thrown her arms around Aureus and hugged him tightly. Loki was still sat next to Georgina, holding her hands, she found her voice suddenly and stood, pulling Loki up too “Do you think we are bomenos to go yet?” she asked. Crovat nodded, Georgina and Loki slowly started walking forwards, Aureus stood still “I will only put you down, if you promise not to run Alicia!” Alicia stopped thrashing “Fine” she hissed. Aureus lowered her to the ground, and started walking with Rachel, Crovat walked with Alicia. He looked at her. “I didn’t want you to know of my past Alicia” he said quietly. Alicia nodded.
Georgina walked staring at her ‘all star converses’ as she went, Loki noticed this. “Georgina?” he asked, gently touching her arm, before tightening his bandana. Georgina looked up “Hmm?” She looked at him silently. Loki smiled “You look great.” He whispered. Georgina smiled “Loki, no offence or anything, but you senore, are trying way too hard…” Loki smirked and shrugged “well, at least I’m trying.” He replied. Georgina giggled “Si…well I’ll give you that.”
Alicia turned to face Crovat, walking backwards “Why did you not wish me to know? Do you not trust me?” she asked. Crovat shook his head “It is not that I do not trust you Alicia,” he started “It is just that…I did not wish for you to think less of me…” he looked at her sadly. Alicia took his hands “And what,” she asked “Do you think, makes me anything like my father? I am nothing like him, therefore, I think none the less of people.” She looked at him, and smiled, then turned and started walking again, leaving Crovat, to feel like a fool. ‘How on earth could I have thought that of her?’ he thought. He followed the others, slowing when he reached Alicia’s side.
Aureus took Rachel’s hand, and took her to one side, whispering quietly to her “We’ll probably be separated when we get to ‘The Red General’ Rachel, and I want you to know that, I promise I will come back to you.” Rachel smiled at him, and then kissed him softly. “Thank you, that really does mean a lot to me.”

After a few hours of walking the sewage system, Loki threw his arm out “We’re here.” He said. In front of them was a ‘T’ junction in the pipe, dead centre of it, was a rusty ladder, and a drain. Light shone into the pipe from the drain. Loki side stepped the beam of light and looked up, he immediately fell to his knees, clutching his face. Georgina rushed to him. “What is it? Are you alright senore?” Loki laughed “Yeah…it’s a street light.” He chuckled “I gotcha there for a second.” The others rolled their eyes, as Georgina balled her hand into a fist and thumped him in the face. “Jesus! Georgina!! What the hell is wrong with you?” Loki shouted, clasping his cheek. Georgina made to hit him again, but he dodged and clambered up the ladder and out of the drain, for cover. Alicia followed then Aureus, Rachel and finally Crovat and Georgina.

“Welcome.” Loki said, standing in front of a dilapidated Theatre-house “To, ‘The Red General’ vampire club.” He turned and smiled at the others “They do great music and drinks here.” He added “Hope you remembered a wallet.”
