A kitten at the window pane,
Glancing innocently at the rain,
His little body curled up tight
As he stares blindly into the night.
The big dog lays, sprawled 'front of the fire,
The kitten reaches his head up higher.
A car drives by the muddy street,
The big dog sighs and licks his feet.
The kitten yawns, his eyes droop,
Forgetting to protect his stoop.
He rests his head down on the pillow,
His heart beating slowly on the sill, Oh
How the kitten wishes he,
Could fall like rain, and no longer be.
