My cats (Pharoah, Egypt and (Cleopatra now in heaven)) clawed some of my furniture up. I taught them not to, but I kept one of the chairs they had clawed up and allowed them to keep on using it. I will never de-claw them, I prefer to have broken furniture then harm them that way.
