I think a wiki with cats where you can guess if they are male of female (and then get the answers) would be fun. I always try to see what gender a cat is, but often I do an initial error if I misjudge the age or race of the cat. Some tomcats looks pretty feminine with small cute noses, for example.

Yes, some do look the opposite of what they are. My neighbor's cat, a male, is a perfect example. He definitely looks like a she. It would be best to stay away from Tortes, though, unless someone has a 'mutant male', which is highly unlikely. :P

Photo! <img:kittyemo_scared.gif>

I've never seen a cat that I was sure was a tomcat to be a female and vice versa.

Aye! Well, there's a first time for everything. Maybe this weekend EJ can get some snapshots & we'll see if you can tell if they are males or females. It'll be pointless to take photos of a calico (a torte type), b/c they are 'almost always' female. How young would you like to start? I have a cat here that's expecting kittens in about a week or so. ;P

If they aren't adult, then it's too hard, I think. <img:kittyemo_smile.gif>

It is indeed, b/c they aren't developing as far as gender's concerned, until they reach the majority of their growth. Once they've reached the majority of their growth, then the hormones step in to play their role in the gender. :P

Eh, there aren't going to be any little kittens. The vet made a misdiagnoses (Did he ever!). Dulcet is in heat. It's pretty tricky to be in heat AND pregnant at the same time. But, we're still gonna' work on getting some photos of hopefully some good 'cat candidates', male vs female, visa versa, even if we do have to borrow a camera now. <img:kittyemo_smile.gif>

How are you feeling? <img:kittyemo_sad.gif>

About the photos? My daughter, [cat eyed farie], has the camera, a brand new one. Ask her to take some photos of cats, lots of them. She'll take 'em for ya. ;)
