Subject: Licking plastic...

[Lilo] loves to lick on plastic bags. She doesn't chew or get any plastic in her mouth, but I'm still a little worried that she gets some plastic into herself, and that can't be healthy in the long run.

Anyone who knows something about this?

Just so long as she doesn't climb into the bag (which could suffocate her) I think she'll probably be OK as long as she doesn't actually swallow any plastic. There are safety regulations on plastic bags that ought to ensure that licking them wouldn't cause a problem, although given the roughness of a cat's tongue, I'm not sure Lilo's case is the sort of thing they consider!

One of our cats licks the plastic bags that are wrapped around bread and then bites the loaves/rolls, but I think that's more because she can smell the bread... o.O

The good think is that Lilo only licks.

Another cat totally killed every plastic bag she came across, so they have to hide the bread at all times.

She's called Pixel:

My Tigger does the same thing; and all we can really do is keep such things away from him...

Haha... I have never had the same problem. I suppose it is a little worrying in case something happens :/

Fortunately my cat just likes to lick bread and scones.

Its funny as hell though because he is terrified of the noise the bags make, but he will brave that fear with much flicking of the tail to get as close as he can to steal a lick or two... xD
