Crovat’s Entrance
On one dark and quiet night, a girl, stood leaning against the doorframe of a spiritual shop. She flicked her long, black, waist–length hair, from her face, and stared. Her hair fell to her leather trousers; hipsters, if you will, a torn vest top covered her barely, and to keep her warm, a long ankle-length leather coat, provided insulation for her. She smirked, upon seeing a gang of gothic boys, in their late-teens, heading her way. She shrugged, causing her coat to fall, showing the bare skin on her shoulders, and her stomach was showing too. She closed her eyes and forced a look of innocence to her face, tucking her hair behind her ear, and poking her thumb into her belt, her fingers tapping at her leather-clad hips. ‘Well Alicia’ she said to herself ‘You’ll have some fun yet’.
The boys stopped and stared at her. One stepped forwards, a blonde boy, wearing tight black jeans, with blond curly hair and a tattered ‘Trivium’ t-shirt, running his tongue along his lips, until finally reaching his lip-ring. “Hey” he smirked.
Alicia raised her head and grinned as her gaze met his “hey…” she replied, her French accent clear“I hear… there are vampires around…you fancy hunting with me?” she tilted her head and waited for an answer. She closed her eyes, she could feel his heartbeat.
He turned to the others “you four split up. Use the flare if you find one.” The others nodded, and each one pulled out a sword, and a stake. Alicia linked arms with the blond boy, and started walking into an alley, leading to the forest. “Ya know” he started “I’m glad we’re alone.” Alicia rolled her eyes and looked at him. ‘Boy’ she thought ‘He really is trying way too hard’.
“I’m Durk” he said, manoeuvring her back against the alley wall, and sliding his hands to the bare skin on her hips. “I’m Alicia” she replied, before she’d cupped her hand around his mouth, and sank her fangs into his neck, her hand muffling his screams. After she’d drained him, she cleaned her face, and wiped the blood from her hands and face, screamed and ran from the alley.
Within minutes, the other four had appeared beside her, “what happened?” one asked. Alicia looked up at him, feigning fear, he had an electric blue Mohawk, and a tongue stud, a fish-net vest top and leather trousers, not unlike hers. “A...a vampire…in the shadows…” she whispered, and pointed back into the alley, from which she had just run.
They nodded and handed her a spare stake and a knife, she followed them into the alley. Three of the boys walked to their fallen comrade’s corpse and knelt, to check him out, Alicia, however, had linked arms with blue-Mohawk boy, and he looked at her. “Don’t worry” he purred “We won’t let it hurt you…” Alicia smirked and raised an eyebrow, before she hugged him, burying his face in her shoulder, and using the knife, to cut a slice from the back of his neck, and licking the blade, she hissed in his ear “Well, I don’t worry...you on the other hand, should, for I cannot hurt myself, so I hurt you.” She held his body against hers for a lingering moment, before she dropped him with a sickening thud, to the floor.
The other three turned “Alan! Oh my god! James! Chris! SHE’S the Vampire!!” one called. “No shit Dean!” Shouted Chris, who stepped forwards, holding a sword up, he ran at her. Alicia side stepped him, and slit his throat, she dropped his body and the knife to the ground, before glancing at Dean and James maliciously, and she licked her fingers. Alicia stepped in between them as they raised their stakes, and jumped, kicking off James, knocking him out cold, against the wall, he slid to the floor, she grabbed Dean’s head, swung around him, snapping his neck, and landing on his carcass, grinning. Once he had fallen, dead to the floor, she knelt in front of James, and bit into his neck, sinking her fangs deep, into the flesh, before she stood, and ran into the forest, and its perpetual night.
As the moonlight shined on the forest, a huge figure, standing some seven feet tall, with a large black leather coat, shoulder-lengt
h brown hair, drawn back into a ponytail, and, interestingly, a phantom-like mask, covering half of his face, from previous scarring, lifted his head and drew in a deep breath, which rattled his mask. “Aaah.” He grinned “The dead now walk with me.” He turned and headed for the centre of the forest.
Once there, he looked around, “I call upon those here un-dead, to show me their presence here instead.” He called. Slowly, one by one, twenty-four vampires emerged from the shadows, Alicia among them, and each of them, upon recognising the figure, fell onto one knee, and bowed. “Lord Crovat” they whispered as one. He gestured for them to rise, and each of them stood. A young vampire, with long silky black curls, that reached the beginning of her corset stepped forwards, and bowed, “My Lord Crovat” she started “My name is Silvia. I am a descendant of Monsieur Lestat Delioncourt, pray, how is it that you have returned to us now? After four centuries…” she stepped back eyeing him. Crovat sighed “Alas. France could no longer quench my thirst.”
Alicia scoffed. Crovat looked at her “Yes? What is it, my dear lady, which makes you laugh like this?” He gazed at her, his eyes, boring into hers. Alicia blushed slightly “Non…nothing monsieur, it is just…I found myself in your very position not five nights ago, whish is why I chose Lincoln.”
Crovat stepped to her, and studied her carefully “What is your name?” he asked “You seem extremely familiar…” He raised an eyebrow. Alicia stared at him, refusing to break her eye-contact, a sign of weakness to her father. “Je m’apelle Alicia Alucard” she said “Daughter of the great monsieur Alucard, most nobly deceased” She bowed to him once more. “I thought I recognised your face mademoiselle” he smirked from behind his mask. “I used to work for your father. I never realised the daughter of someone like him, could be so…enchanting.” He smiled, keeping his eyes on hers.
“Well monsieur,” Alicia retaliated “I get my looks from ma mere.”
She said tilting her head “And I do not wish to enchant, only to feed on the weak, and serve the powerful.” She turned and started walking away “Come Silvia, I sense humans are near. We have to go, it is time” Silvia nodded, and stepped after Alicia. Crovat watched Alicia carefully, and almost silently said “Ah my dear, I do not wish to disappoint you, but you have enchanted me” he span on the spot and disappeared.
Alicia sighed as Silvia reached her side “He seems to like you mademoiselle Alucard” Silvia purred. Alicia shrugged “My father told me not to mix with him. He said I would regret it if I did.” She stopped and tilted her head “I believe I sense fear, Silvia” she whispered. Silvia nodded “Two young girls my lady” she closed her eyes “About a hundred yards that way” she pointed to Alicia’s left. Alicia nodded impressed “your sensing skills have been greatly undermined” she said “You are good at what you do. Have you got your weapons?” Alicia looked at Silvia who giggled “Weapon.” she corrected her and nodded, reaching behind her, she pulled out a six foot pole, from which a blade sprang, when she pushed a small trigger “My dear mother’s scythe” she smiled, shouldering it. “Let’s go have some fun eh? How good are you at acting to faint?” Silvia asked. Alicia smirked “What have you in mind.”
Crovat appeared behind a tree, in time to see two girls’ jumps, as a female figure fainted in front of them. He noticed at once it was Alicia. The two girls at once knelt to see if she was okay. In the darkness, Crovat noticed a glint of silver, and then he saw the scythe being raised behind them. In one swift movement, both girls’ heads landed on Alicia’s lap. Silvia giggled, and lifted the two corpses onto her shoulder “I’ll take these back to the others” she kicked the two heads away and then disappeared, a shrill cackle cutting the silence of the night. Alicia stood “Dawn is near” she whispered, and fled. Crovat followed.
