The Catacombs.

Kari walked along the street, looking around, through her Red fringe. Behind her, Flwy, her dyed red-haired guitarist was humming their latest record in the charts; “Three-letters” was number one on ‘Scuzz’ and ‘Kerrang’. Flwy smiled to himself, his guitar plec always in his glove. Kari stopped and brushed her long red hair from her face. She brushed a hand along her skirt and tilted her head, her brown eyes studying every alley, every dark corner and shadow within her eyesight.
      Flwy walked into her “Ouch!” he looked at her “Kari...what’s wrong?” he gently touched her shoulder “Flwy…” she whispered “You have to go back to the hotel now…It’s not safe here…” Flwy shook his head “I’m going nowhere without you Kari. I know you hate the daylight for some reason. I am not stupid enough to leave you alone at midnight. There are nutters out there. You should know that.” Kari nodded “Which is why I want you back in that hotel now!” she hissed. She turned to see Alicia coming out of an alley, “who are you?” she hissed to her. Alicia smiled “well, well, if it isn’t the Catacombs.” She stopped a few meters from Kari, as Crovat silently crept up behind Flwy. Flwy instantly recognized her for a vampire, and pulled a stake from his voluminous green studded belt “Vampire!” he spat at her “Leave here now, and I spare you.” He stepped towards her, Crovat laughed, a shrill cold laugh “and you think I would let you touch her?” Flwy turned around and drop kicked Crovat, and staggeringly, Crovat fell to the floor. Alicia ran at Flwy who hit her with his guitar, winding her. Alicia fell to her knees “you son of a –.“ Kari slapped her “Now, now…let us have none of that language.” She hissed.
     Flwy stood over Alicia holding the stake, Alicia stared at him, he grabbed her by the throat, and Alicia laughed “Isn’t this meant to be the other way around? I should be biting you!” she tore his shirt open, scratching his chest, and cuffing her hand over his mouth, she sank her teeth into his neck. Kari ran towards Alicia, but Crovat caught her around her middle “Watch, this is what happens, when you watch over a mortal.”


Alicia let go of Flwy, who fell to the floor, she took off her coat and covered him, she took her knife from her belt, and slashed a cut in her arm “Drink if you wish to live.” She spat at him, he coughed and lapped at the blood falling from her arm. Alicia’s arm healed itself, and at once Flwy started writhing in agony on the floor. “Stop it!!” Kari shouted “You’re killing him!” She started sobbing. Crovat smiled “Don’t worry. It’s just his body that’s dying…” Kari stared at him “You horrid Creature! You turned him!” Alicia shook her head “Shut up woman, before I impale you with the stake.” She lifted Flwy’s head, and he opened his eyes “W...where am i?” he asked “Don’t worry.” Alicia smirked “Your maker is here” She dragged him to his feet, and folded her arms “Well my Lord, look here, we have the world’s first Emo – Vampire” she smiled at Crovat who nodded and let go of Kari.
         Kari sprinted to Flwy’s side “Are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you…” she pulled the collar of his shirt back, and saw the two tiny pinpricks where he had been bitten. “Yes…you are…you’re like me now.” She started crying again. Flwy looked at her “you’re a vampire too? Since when?” he asked, grabbing her arms “I always have been…” she whispered, tears streaming down her face. Flwy let her go and turned “Where do I go now? If I can’t go anywhere during the day…” Alicia linked arms with his and steered him towards the Red General “How would you like to be a regular at a club we know of?” Flwy nodded Alicia smiled. Crovat picked Kari up and carried her, after Alicia towards the club.
   Aureus looked around and walked to Loki “Have you seen my sister?” he asked. Loki shook his head “Nope. I think she left with scar face.” Georgina kissed Loki again, and he shuffled away from Aureus, with Georgina. Aureus turned as Alicia reached his side. “Bonjour. Miss me brother?” she asked. Aureus turned and saw his sister, linking arms with a young man with semi-long red hair that fell over one of his eyes. He had a white shirt on, that had torn down the front, and a slash down his chest, that could only belong to his sister’s nails. Crovat entered behind Alicia, carrying a distraught vampire, with long, extremely long red hair, “OH my god! Alicia, are those the catacombs?” Alicia smiled and nodded “The very same.” Aureus glared at Flwy “Isn’t he meant to be a human?” Flwy stood at his full height, (Although still coming more than an inch off Aureus) he stood his ground “Not anymore…you see, your sister took care of that.” He spat. Aureus grabbed him by his shirt, and pulled his collar back, seeing the bite mark. “Well, my sister has struck again. Men watch out.” He glared, then walked back to Rachel.


Kari appeared, looking much better; she had her hair up in a black velvet scrunchy and had changed into a long black dress “Flwy…we got it! We play here five nights a week, and on weekends, we have a slot at a regular support group’s gig.” She beamed. Flwy hugged her “That’s great Kari.” He smiled. He turned back to Alicia “How… do I… you know…I’m starving.” Flwy said, Kari took his hand and dragged him to the bar. “I’m not telling you what you’re about to drink, in case it puts you off okay?” Flwy nodded. Kari paid for a shot glass containing a 30 year old man’s blood (Fresh) , and he downed it “Not bad…” he said, wiping his mouth “Although it tasted a little sickly.” Kari smiled “you just drank blood, how do you feel.” She smiled at him, taking his hand. “Actually, not as bad as I would have felt…is that good or bad?” Kari smiled “It’s good. You’ll lose some of your lingering emotions soon. Come, we have a gig to play.” She stood, as did Flwy “Now that’s what I’m talking about.” He pulled his guitar cover off, to reveal a shining black Gibson Les Paul, and from his glove, he pulled a luminous green (the same green as his belt) guitar plec.


They approached the stage as a vampire stepped up to the mic “We have new arrivals here tonight folks, as you have heard on ‘Scuzz’ and ‘Kerrang’ there’s a new band around, called ‘The Catacombs’ well, they are both vampires! You can hear them for yourselves, and let them hear you scream!” she smiled, flicking her short black hair from her face. They are our new house band, so if you don’t like ‘em, drink somewhere else!” She smiled as a few people laughed. Kari approached the mic and sat on a stool, Flwy stood, leaning one foot on his amplifier, he raised his guitar and pressed his lips to his mic, “this song is called “Three letters – I’m Emo” the crowd cheered. He started his strumming, gentle at first, then after eight chords, he started strumming his heart out. Kari started singing almost immediately, a slow soft scream into the mic:

As she finished singing, the whole room erupted into screams. Alicia jumped and shouted along with them, Crovat behind her, watched Flwy smirk slightly, and then looked at Georgina and Loki. They were still sat, sucking each others faces. ‘I bet they didn’t even listen’ he chuckled to himself. Alicia smiled and turned, walking straight into Crovat; she blushed scarlet and muttered an apology. Crovat smiled, “Don’t apologize Alicia.” He nodded to her. Crovat looked at her “Want to get closer?” he asked. Alicia stared “I beg your pardon?” Crovat pointed “Want to get closer to the stage?” Alicia shook her head, and then turned to watch the next song. This time Flwy was singing along with Kari, who was playing the drums. Crovat gently slid his arms around Alicia’s waist, and she put her hands on his, she looked over her shoulder at him. As Flwy burst into a fully fledged scream for the chorus, Alicia turned right around to face Crovat. Aureus looked over at Alicia and Crovat and his jaw dropped, he watched his little sister, stand on tip-toes and gently press her lips against Crovat’s, closing her eyes. Aureus laughed and hugged Rachel “Now she can get some fun.” He said to Rachel. Rachel laughed, and danced with Aureus. As the song ended, Flwy hugged Kari and they both clambered off the stage, Flwy walked with Kari to the dance floor, as another song started, and kissed her cheek “You’re amazing.” He whispered to her. Kari smiled “As are you Flwy. My one and only Emo vampire.” She winked. Flwy took her hand, and they started dancing.


In the streets, Naomi and Daemon walked slowly, Daemon knelt and picked up Flwy’s stake “Vampires…you were right Miss Naomi.” he chuckled Naomi smiled “Yes. Not far now Daemon, this place is famous for concealing vampires…” she eyed the old theatre carefully, before turning along an alley, holding her mother’s crucifix high in the air. “If we don’t find them, they sure as hell will find us.” She said to Daemon. Daemon nodded, pocketing the stake “who do you think they attacked?” he asked. Naomi turned “Being as there is no corpse, I bet they turned him. Therefore, we have one extra vampire to exterminate.” She hissed. “How can you be sure it was a ‘he’?” Daemon asked. Naomi smiled “Pieces of shirt at your feet Daemon dear, therefore, it’s a bloke alright. All the more fun to kill in my opinion.” She stalked off, with Daemon at her heels.
